About Nate

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Nate is a licensed massage therapist in the State of California and a graduate of National Holistic Institute in Emeryville, the first nationally-accredited school for massage therapy.

With over 700 hours of massage experience, Nate specializes in a wide variety of modalities, including Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Myofascial Therapy (MFT).

At the National Holistic Institute, he was the only student in his class to graduate with honors (4.0 GPA). Nate also received a Letter of Excellence during the Western Segment.

In addition to being a massage therapist, Nate is a NASM certified personal trainer and two-time Senior National Champion in the sport of judo. He began judo at the age of 4 and enjoyed early success as a child, winning several Junior National Championships. Nate was named the United States Judo Federation’s Senior Male Player of the Year in 2004 and participated in 2 Olympic Trials (2004, 2008).

Nate moved to California in 2006 and joined the East Bay Judo Institute (EBJI) shortly thereafter. While a member of EBJI and under the guidance of 2003 US Olympic Committee Coach of the Year Dr. David Matsumoto, Nate won the 2008 Senior National Championships and placed third at the 2008 US Olympic Trials.

He currently teaches at EBJI and has successfully run his own private massage practice for a decade. He resides in the east bay with his wife, son, two cats, and backyard bees.
